Attorney Doeberl has experience in all aspects of family law. She negotiates and drafts prenuptial, separation, postnuptial, cohabitation, and modification agreements, and represents clients in divorce, custody, removal, international child abduction, modification, contempt, and equity proceedings. Kristin specializes in representing clients facing high-conflict custody situations and cases involving violence in the home, mental health issues, and substance use disorder. She also regularly works with child development and parenting experts, as well as mental health, business valuation, and financial experts. Kristin advises clients on issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community, and handles second-parent adoptions. She also serves as a court-certified conciliator, and has been appointed by the Court as counsel for the child. Kristin devotes pro bono hours to the Attorneys Representing Children (ARC) Program in Middlesex County, to the Settlement and Early Resolution Volunteers (SERV) program in Suffolk County, and to the Lawyer for the Day programs in both Norfolk and Suffolk County.

Kristin has been named a Boston Magazine Top Lawyer, listed in The Best Lawyers In America® under Family Law, and selected for inclusion in New England Super Lawyers under Family Law. She has spoken and presented at various international and domestic conferences on various family law topics. Kristin is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), the Boston Bar Association, the Middlesex County Bar Association, the Norfolk County Bar Association, the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Courts, and the Wellesley Lawyers Network.

Kristin graduated cum laude from Wellesley College with a degree in sociology and a minor in Africana studies. While at Wellesley, she also played soccer and was captain of the women’s basketball team. At Northeastern University School of Law, she served as commencement speaker at graduation, and as Managing Editor of the Law Journal. Prior to entering private practice, Kristin interned with the Honorable Judge Nancy Gertner (retired) of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, with the Elder Law Unit of Greater Boston Legal Services, and at the United Nations’ International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague.

Prior to opening Doeberl Family Law, Kristin was an equity partner at Verrill, where she also served as Chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee. Before joining Verrill in 2016, Kristin worked as an Associate at Ginsburg, Leshin, Gibbs, and Jones LLP in Wellesley and at Looney and Grossman LLP in Boston.

Outside the office, Kristin enjoys playing basketball, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.
